Male voice: "Please listen carefully. This is an important notice regarding your automobile. We recently mailed you a postcard to activate your extended warranty coverage. This courtesy call is your final notice that your vehicle will be removed from our system. This means the opportunity to activate your extended warranty at deeply discounted rates will be lost. To speak with an agent regarding your options before the deadline, please press one now. If you wish to permanently remove your vehicle from eligibility for future coverage, press three now."

Definitely a scam.

Feb 28: Recording of "Frank" with the "intercounty records department"

"This is Frank calling with the intercounty records department. Uh, after reviewing properties in your area from what I can see here, uh looks like your property would qualify for the intercounty three point two five percent thirty year loan program. Uh, so it is imperative that I speak with you though regarding your preapproval. Call me back when you get this at 1-800-210-4789. Once again, call me back at 1-800-210-4789. I'll talk to you soon."

What the fuck is the "intercounty records department"?

What the fuck is with all the mortgage crap coming up again in the last month? Didn't the fucking subprime collapse teach them a lesson?

Feb 26: Recording of yet another mortgage scam

Woman's voice that didn't wait for the answering machine to start recording: "...to save thousands of dollars each year. Crazy question, huh? Who wouldn't? Well, if you're one of the many homeowners with an adjustable rate mortgage, now is the perfect time to lock in a loan while interest rates are still at the historic lows. Whether you have perfect or not so perfect credit, we guarantee that we can either or match or beat the best loan programs available. If you would like to speak one of our live loan specialists about our new, low rate programs at no cost or obligation, please press one on your phone now. If you would like to be taken off this special list, press two."

So now my phone number is on a "special" sucker list now.

Feb 25: Recording of "announcement" scam about governmental "economic stimulus home loan program"

Woman's voice: "This announcement concerns your eligibility for the government's new economic stimulus home loan program. And the new home loan limits with Freddy Mac, Fanny Mae, and the FHA, the federal housing administration. This stimulus package will help homeowners save hundreds, and possibly thousands of dollars each month by lowering their present interest rate. And help those homeowners that need to get out of an adjustable and into a thirty year fixed."

Man's voice: "Please note. This is a temporary program. And is only available until the end of two thousand eight. So press one now to find out if you are eligible for the government's new economic stimulus home loan program. These government home loans are federally insured. So they are regulated. Which means they cost less than traditional home loans. With the the new guidelines, you may be eligible to refinance your existing home loan and save money no matter what your credit score. Press one now to find out if you are eligible. Press three if you wish to be removed from our marketing list."

Who the hell are they and why is my phone number on their "marketing list"? They're probably a scam latching onto the new government program. And since this government program ends at the end of the year, I'll have to expect ten more months of crap from whoever they are about this program, after which they'll probably have other ongoing "announcements". But since they don't identify themselves, I won't be able to connect them to other shit from them.

Feb 20: Recording of "please listen carefully" extended vehicle warranty fraud

Male voice: "Please listen carefully. This is an important notice regarding your automobile. We recently mailed you a postcard to activate your extended warranty coverage. This courtesy call is your final notice that your vehicle will be removed from our system. This means the opportunity to activate your extended warranty at deeply discounted rates will be lost. Feb 20: Recording "Kelly" at "credit card services" scam

"Hi. This is Kelly at credit card services. I'm calling with an important announcement about your credit card account. This is our third attempt at reaching you. Our records indicate that you have been overpaying interest. Right now, we have you qualified to reduce your interest payment. To as low as two point nine percent. And cut your monthly payments in half. If you want to cut your monthly payment, lower your interest rate, and consolidate to one monthly payment, press one now. Again, this is your final chance to participate. So press one now. Or press three to be removed."

So many lies. This recording called more than three times. All those other "final chance to participate" statements were lies.

I pressed one and some music played. Then a man answered the phone and asked if I wanted to be transferred to a specialist. So, I played along and said sure. But, in order to do so, I had to give them a name. He said they were a "third party" and didn't have my name in their "records", so I gave an obviously fake name. So he wouldn't transfer me. I asked what scam they were running, and he said that this was a "promotional call" and they were a company that helped millions of people get out of debt. I asked what "promotional call" means and what company he was calling from. He ignored the question about promotional calls and gave an obviously fake name for the company. I asked for the phone number of the obviously fake company name, and he spewed my phone number back at me. With all the lies in the recording and the lies from the phone lackey, it's obviously a scam.

So many fucking lies. This recording called more than three times. All those other "final chance to participate" statements were lies.

I pressed one and some music played. Then a woman asked if I wanted to be transferred to a specialist. I asked her what credit cards they were talking about. She said that it was a promotional something or other. I told her that the recording said that they had records about my credit cards, so they should know what credit cards they are talking about. She hung up on me before I could finish. This must be fucking scam.
