Apr 26: Recording of Dan with "COURTESY" call from anonymous company

This recording has called Apr 17 and Apr 26. Almost identical recording on John has called on Feb 7, 21, 24, Mar 3, Mar 10, and Apr 11. Another almost identical recording of John called Nov 16, 23, Dec 13, 15, Jan 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 17, and 19. An almost identical recording of Shawn called Nov 10, Mar 8, and Apr 5. A similar anonymous recording called Jan 11.

"Hello. My name is DAN and this is a COURTESY call to let you know that recently expanded underwriting guidelines allow MORE people to qualify for LOW interest rate HOME loans. With interest rates the lowest in forty years, this means if you have good credit, LESS than perfect credit, or even a recent bankruptcy, we can help. With financing options as low as 1%, you can use the money to consolidate bills, refinance credit card debt, or simply LOWER your current payment. If you are NOT interested in this free quote, please hang up now, or press THREE to be added to our do not call list. If you would LIKE a free rate quote, please press one to connect to a home loan specialist. Again, please press one for a no obligation rate quote."

It still sounded like a number of recordings spliced together.

Apr 24: Recording of Tim with "mortgage services"

This recording has called Mar 13, Apr 17 and Apr 24. An almost identical recording of Michelle with mortgage services called Mar 16.

Maybe the 1% telemarketing recordings will disappear soon. But they're being replaced by the 1.5% telemarketing recordings, so it's no improvement.

Apr 22: Recording of anonymous woman saying goodbye

This recording has called Jan 29, Feb 1, Mar 17, Apr 11 and Apr 22.

Apr 20: Recording of Carleen with "the underwriting department"

This message has called Apr 20.

"Hi. This is Carleen with the underwriting department. I'm calling in regards to your ficky[?] mortgage. Uh, based on your recent payment activity, our department has been authorized to try and lower your interest rate to reduce your monthly payment. Uh, but there are just a couple items I'm going to need to confirm with you. So if you could please call me back directly at 1-800-903-1484. One more time, that's 1-800-903-1484. This'll be the only notice that you'll receive. Uh, but this offer is only valid for the next three business days. Thank you so much and we look forward to serving you."

I can't tell what she actually said where I transcribed it as "ficky".

Identifying herself as being with "the underwriting department" is already dishonest. If this recording calls again, I'll be able to consult this posting and revise my judgement as to how dishonest it is.

Apr 17: Recording of woman: "1.5 percent"

This recording has called Apr 17.

Apr 17: Recording of David Clark with the Mortgage Connection

This fraudulent recording has called Apr 17.

"Hi. This is David Clark with the Mortgage Connection. This call is in regards to your mortgage appplication that we received. I would like to preapprove you on our 1.25% 30 year mortgage program. To be connected immediately, press one. If for whatever reason you are not interested in our 1.25% mortgage program, press nine."

How did they receive that fraudulent mortgage application that they say is mine? Perhaps they consider being on these stupid telemarketer lists as having a mortgage application.

Apr 17: Recording of Tim with "mortgage services"

This recording has called Mar 13 and Apr 17. An almost identical recording of Michelle with mortgage services called Mar 16.

"Hi there, this is Tim with mortgage services? I'm calling regarding your current mortgage? Apr 17: Recording of Dan with "COURTESY" call from anonymous company

This recording has called Apr 17.

It sounded like a number of recordings pasted together. I'm guessing the latter part was the latter part of the recording of John. Perhaps they wanted to call all the people on their do not call list (nominally for the recording of John) and spliced in the recording of Dan in the beginning. I can't think of any other reason for doing dishonest things like making almost identical recordings with different names. Especially if they then splice them together.

Apr 14: Recording of antiabortion crap

This recording has called Apr 14.

"Hello this is an important message for registered voters. It concerns the initiative to protect children seeking abortions without their parent's knowledge. The proposed child protection initiative requires doctors to notify parents when their young daughter is seeking an abortion in California. We're asking all California registered voters in favor this initiative to add your name to the petition. We need your help because nearly one million signatures are required to get this initiative on the November ballot. If you would like to sign the petition giving parents the legal right to know if their young daughter is seeking an abortion, please press one now. If you don't wish to participate, please press two."

(Long pause.)

Different voice: "We're sorry, but we did not get a valid response."

Original voice: "If you would like to sign the petition giving parents the legal right to know their young daughter is seeking an abortion, please press one now. If you don't wish to participate, please press two."

(Long pause.)

"Thank you. Goodbye."

This sounds just like proposition 73 that was defeated last November. I guess that means crap like this recording will be polluting the phone lines for the next seven months. Why don't they just limit themselves ads on right-wing talk radio and the like?

That's the 15th "final" notice that's called my phone numbers.

Apr 9: Some resort or something in Reno

The telemarketer spoke very quickly, so I told him he was talking too fast.

He then reeled off a his pitch, which went on for a while. Then, it was over. After a brief pause, he said something like have a nice day, and hung up on me. There were no questions or anything else in the pitch to respond to, so I didn't say anything. Perhaps he expected me to be so excited over whatever it was he was selling that I would demand to know how to get it?

Apr 9: The Chronicle

I thought Sundays were relatively free of telemarketers, plus I was on call for work, so I answered the phone.

When I said no thanks, he hung up on me.
