and they're nothing but scams
The phone rang, but when I answered it, there was nobody there. There were some clicks. Then, after fifteen to twenty seconds, it hung up.
I picked up the phone, and after a couple of seconds, the recording of Kelly from National Vacations started playing. It was a long day at work, so I was disgusted enough to hang up on it. This is the first time I've hung up on a telemarketer in many months. It's still been many months since I've hung up on a live telemarketer, though.
I picked up the phone and said hello. There was some telemarketer background noise and a woman asked hello. After two seconds, I said yes, but she had hung up.
She said a bunch of crap, and then said to speak with a representative, press 9, so I pressed 9. After being on hold for a while, I asked the representative what the recording said. He said that I was getting three different vacations. He then asked if I was married. I said again that I didn't pay attention to the recording and asked what it was about. He again said I was going to get three different vacations. I said that the recording was a bit longer than that. I think he hung up after that. A bunch of weird fake busy sounds came from the phone. After a couple of minutes, while I was typing this, there was a ringing, and then another man said hello. I said hello, but he didn't seem to hear me. There's been nothing but static on the line since. I've been on the line for about two minutes after the original representative hung up on me, typing this.
When I picked up the phone, there was a click. Then, after about seven seconds, it hung up.
It was almost 9pm when the phone rang. The man started speaking Chinese. He said AT&T in the middle of the Chinese. Then, while he was talking, an annoying buzzing drowned him out. By the time the buzzing stopped, I think he had moved on to some other sucker. It took a few more seconds before the phone system hung up.
A woman said they didn't get to send a factory representative to me the previous time. She asked if ten or three would be good times. That's pretty dumb, because most people are at work at those times. I said no. She then suggested seven on Tuesday. I said I wasn't interested. Fortunately, she decided that I really wasn't interested.
I didn't follow what it said. When it was done, it said to press 1 to be connected to an agent. I pressed 1, and I got connected to a person pretty quickly. I told him that I didn't pay attention to the recording and asked him what it was about. He said he didn't know, and perhaps it something about health care. I said that that was pretty pointless and said good bye.
He asked if I could hear him a couple times, since I wasn't going to say anything until he shut up. Finally I said yes, even though he hadn't really stopped talking, and started talking again right when I said it. Then he said some stuff. I said that I'm not interested. He said thank you and hung up.
After I picked up the phone, there was nobody there for five seconds. Then, a woman said hello. I wanted to make her wait a few seconds after shutting up before I would say anything, but she said hello three more times, each time a little louder, waiting less than a second between each time. I finally said yes, but she hung up right after I finished speaking.
They're giving me a credit report. They could have just sent me the junk mail without the telemarketing call. She talked for a long time. Then, I gathered that they would be enrolling me in something that I would have to cancel later to avoid buying. So I said I didn't want it. She talked for a while again about identity theft. After she was done, I said again that I didn't want to be enrolled.
I picked up the phone, and whoever it was immediately hung up. Perhaps it was a crank call. But perhaps it was a telemarketer, as I did not get to the phone until it rang three times.
