Mar 14: Recording of fraud from "your financial department"

This nameless recording from "your financial department" called Feb 7, 27 and Mar 14.

"Hello. This is a courtesy call from your financial department. After reviewing your recent payment history, we do have a lender that can approve you for the one percent interest rate on the thirty year loan. Please press one now to speak with your financial department. Or press three now to be removed."

Obviously "your financial department" is an attempt to scam people into thinking they're already dealing with them. "The one percent ... on the thirty ..." is just more fraud.

In recent news, it seems that subprime lenders are having trouble. I hope a lot of them go belly-up. I've gotten a number of calls from Countrywide telemarketers, so I hope Countrywide goes out of business. At least, there could be fewer mortgage telemarketing calls, though time will tell. If it switches to some other telemarketing scams calling, it won't be any improvement. However, since most peoples' biggest investments are their homes, mortgage scams are the obvious way to extract lots of money from suckers, so who knows what could replace them? I've gotten a few stock pumping scam telemarketing calls, though nothing specifically targetting retirement funds. There are the incessant credit scams calling. There seems to be a rise in health care scams calling.

Whatever. This bullshit is not really worth any more thought from me.
