Aug 15: Recording of Chris of Countrywide

This recording has called Aug 15. Another similar recording called Jul 10.

"Sorry I missed you again. I tried calling you several weeks back. Uh. Talk to you about your Washington Mutual adjustable home loan. If you're ready to lock in a rate for the next... five to thirty years with little or no documentation and the ability to get cash out. Ahem. Excuse me. And the ability to get cash out, give me a call at 1-800-661-6065. At Countrywide, you don't need perfect credit, so give me a call at 1-800-661-6065. Thanks and have a great day."

This is a message to whomever owns this blog:

You provide some very useful information here about illegal prerecorded telemarketing calls.

Could you please contact me. I would like to compare notes with you about your calls in the hope that I can identify some of the callers who have also called me.

I transcribe whatever I get on my answering machine, so pretty much all the information I have is posted here.

I would still greatly appreciate being able to talk with you a little in e-mail.

Are you at all interested in suing the telemarketers who call you in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)?

When I receive a telemarketing call that violates the TCPA, I try to track down the caller and sue them. You might be able to help me, and I would greatly appreciate that.

Not interested in being involved in any suits. You may cite the postings on this site, for what they're worth, if it helps.

I understand completely if you're not interested in being involved in any law suits. It takes a LOT of time and trouble to sue a telemarketer for violating the TCPA. Most people don't like the calls, but they're just not THAT upset to bother suing the company that made them.

But I'm not asking you to be involved in any law suits. I am just asking if I can talk with you in e-mail about how you might be able to help me with my law suits. You might be able to help me "take a bite out of crime".

It's just much easier to have this conversation in e-mail. But I guess we can do it here.

Is it at all possible for you to include Caller ID (or *69) information for the calls that you receive? Sometimes that is very helpful in tracking down who made the calls.

Is it at all possible for you to press 1 (or 9 or whatever) at the end of a prerecorded message so that you can talk with a live operator? It would be very helpful if you could get a "callback" number from the caller.

Anyway, keep up the good work. Like I said before, the information you provide here is already very useful.

Sorry. I have a $10 phone and a $20 answering machine, and they don't support caller-id or any other fancy modern phone features. I'm not going to use *69.

However, pressing 1 or whatever, and asking for an address, phone number, etc, is a good idea. I'll try doing that, with the results posted on this site. As most of the calls come in when I'm not at home, it will only happen on occasion.

Too bad you can't get caller ID information, but I understand not wanting to spend any extra money to get that information.

It would be great if you could get some useful information from the live reps. If you ever want some good tips on how to get information out of them, please e-mail me. I've gotten pretty good at it, and it can be kind of fun.
